As discussed in The Visual Trap chapter of The Male Factor, this product provides women with knowledge they can use to ensure they are presenting the credible image they intend, and to avoid any hidden “traps” to their workplace effectiveness. Available either as a download or a DVD, this short presentation summarizes the findings discussed in the visual trap chapter as well as other key information and specific, practical, helpful, visual examples. The product includes the results of the video experiment showing the “distraction factor” as one way of helping women understand how certain fashion choices may be perceived. Clips are included from both versions of the ninety-second video seen by male survey-takers; one in which an attractive businesswoman wears a high cut top in one and the other in which her low cut top shows cleavage. The anonymous, candid comments from the male survey-takers, along with the quantified results of the survey are, shall we say, revealing. Women in the workplace will come away from this presentation with several “aha” moments that fundamentally assist informed image decisions. And managers in the workplace will come away with a valuable tool that completely removes the awkwardness of image discussions.
